Eureka Metal & Glass Services and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21 last Friday joined forces to clean up Pleasant Hill Park, 9201 N. Delaware Ave.

It was the second consecutive year that Eureka, 9070 State Road, and the union cleaned the park on Earth Day.

“Eureka feels as though, on an annual basis, we can pick up trash at this wonderful city park that is an unrealized gem,” said company president Terry Webb. “It’s a nice spot.”

The company’s Eureka Gives Back program takes part in monthly charitable efforts, according to Amanda DiCrescenzo.

Employees have volunteered at food banks and collected donations for Philabundance, Project HOME, Cradles to Crayons and the Ronald McDonald House.

“It makes you feel good giving back to the community,” DiCrescenzo said.

Eureka has a close working relationship with DC 21.

“The Glaziers will always participate all the time,” said union organizer Roberto Rios Jr. ••
